Our nation’s capital is full of fun and exciting things to see and do…too many things, in fact, that it can be very overwhelming if you’re only there for a short amount of time. Which activities do you choose? Which landmarks are a must-see? Take a look at my low-down of the best things to do and see in London.
Have tea with the Queen at Buckingham Palace
Okay, so you can’t really go to Buckingham Palace and have tea with the Queen, but it’s a nice thought. Buckingham Palace is a landmark that everyone must see when you visit London because it’s just so…British. You can either walk past, stop and take in the amazing palace and grounds, or you can even tour the palace itself from July to October.
Get your geek on at the Natural History Museum
If you’re into history and artefacts, you’ll love the Natural History Museum.. and even if you don’t like history or museums, I guarantee you’ll still love the Natural History Museum. You can wander round the exhibits at your own pace and examine over 80 thousand specimens. Doesn’t that just sound really cool?
Take selfies with your favourite celebs at Madame Tussauds
The famous Madame Tussauds has various attractions all across the world. If you haven’t been to one yet, or haven’t yet been to the London branch, seeing your favourite celebs should be top of your list. Feast your eyes on Johnny Depp, the Queen, KimYe, and Benedict Cumberbatch… because let’s face it, you’re not going to be getting any closer to them throughout your lifetime.
Visit the Hippodrome Casino – unfortunately, nothing to do with Hippos
The Hippodrome Casino is the UK’s largest and biggest international style casino, so if you’re looking to earn back a bit of the cash you’ve spent during your visit to London, I’d recommend paying this place a visit. Located in an old theatre, you can experience an enjoyable mix of nightlife, gambling, and theatre. Even if you don’t fancy gambling, the Hippodrome is a spectacle you don’t want to miss.
Have a bite to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe
But, it’s just a restaurant, right? Wrong. The Hard Rock Cafe in London was the first ever Hard Rock Cafe, ever. Because of this, the restaurant has the most authentic memorabilia from the rock gods, and you can eat their delicious burgers under the guitars owned by the likes of Jimi Hendrix and AC/DC. It’s so Rock’n’Roll.
